Great Balls of Fire
1 12-ounce box Nilla Wafer cookies
1 12-ounce package chocolate chips
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark rum, bourbon or whiskey
2 cups finely chopped pecans or walnuts
Powdered sugar
Finely crush cookies with a rolling pin. Set aside.
Place chocolate chips in a microwave-proof dish and microwave on High for 1
minute and stir. Continue microwaving for 30-second intervals, stirring after
each interval until chocolate is melted and completely smooth. Cool. In large
bowl, combined cooled, melted chocolate, sugar and liquor. When blended, add
crushed cookie crumbs and chopped nuts; stir until completely mixed.
Refrigerate 2 hours. Roll into 1-inch balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place
on cookie sheet and refrigerate until set.
Makes about 3 dozen.
