A Few Work-From-Home Job Possibilities

By Rosemary O’Brien

Thanks to Army Wife Talk Radio www.ArmyWifeTalkRadio.com for their excellent broadcast about the rewards and drawbacks of working at home. I was listening and it led me to an article by Tory Johnson, the workplace contributor for Good Morning America. Her piece lists several excellent work at home job ideas, many of which would fit perfectly into the military spouse’s lifestyle. Below are just a few of the great ideas I came across.

I thought the Online Juror job sounded interesting. Attorneys pay people to help decide if a case has any trial value. In other words, what could the jury possibly decide? Online jurors earn $20 on up for their time, which could be 20 minutes or 1 hour. The participant knows how much time the job will take and how much it pays before they accept each job.

Virtual Assistant is an up-and-coming position in the internet community. Since many of us now telecommute or are full-time freelancers, a virtual assistant is a valuable asset to our virtual community. This job entails everything an on-site assistant would do from taking phone calls, scheduling meetings and word processing. Unfortunately for my desk, they have not figured out how to file remotely.

If you are a techie, why not try a job as a Customer Service Technician for people with computer problems? You can set up as an independent contractor, set your own hours, and help solve computer problems via telephone.

As a Freelance Writer, I personally appreciate the fact that I am readily available when my child is out sick from school, and I don’t have to scare up a babysitter at the last minute or call in sick myself. I can even continue working much of the time! I am also able to move things around when Hubby has a sudden change of schedule thanks to Uncle Sam.

You can find Tory Johnson’s article at http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/TakeControlOfYourLife/story?id=2621388&page=1&GMA=true. Take a look and see what work-at-home ideas this article will spark.
